Darvesha Victoria MacDonald – Voorzitter (Silver City, New Mexico, USA email) has served as chair of the Guidance Council since June 2007 and on the current DUP Interantional board of directors since January 2008. She was a member of the original DUP International board (then PeaceWorks INDUP) at the time of its inception in 1987. She has traveled extensively worldwide leading the Dances. Her major focus of the last fifteen years has been seeding the Dances in South America, particularly in Colombia, and encouraging local leadership and mentorship. A co-founder of Wilderness Dance Camp, Darvesha has spearheaded revision of the Leaders Guild Guidelines, completed in 2010. Darvesha is a Murshida in the Sufi Ruhaniat International, a Senior Mentor of the Dances of Universal Peace, a Ziraat Experienced Farmer, and a Buddhist practitioner. (Term ends April, 2017.)

 

 

 

 

Dakini (Maris) Warrior – Vice voorzitter (Schotland, Groot Brittannië email)

Dakini (Maris Warrior) has led Dances of Universal Peace since 1995. She is a mother, a student, a music tutor and an educational consultant. Born in Estonia, she now lives in Scotland, serving as a dance mentor and a Sheikha. She is also a practicing Buddhist in Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. Dakini initiated a Dance Camp in Estonia (2001), a Sufi camp in Scotland (2012), co-founded a Buddhist retreat centre in Findhorn (2005), and leads dances and Sufi retreats at various events across Europe. She holds a degree in education and psychology and currently studies for a MA in Education, working with young people who are struggling with anxiety and depression in schools.

Ginny Rukmini Miller (New York, USA email) is a certified Dance leader and musician for the Dances, having served Eugene's DUP's bi-monthly meeting in both capacities since 2011. In 2012, she worked with a group of Eugene DUP leaders and supporters to establish their circle as a Chapter of PW-DUPNA, and has served on its Board of Directors since that time, as both treasurer and secretary.  Zarifah has managed her own business as a real estate broker for the past ten years, before which time she home-schooled her twin children, and ran an independent bookkeeping service. (Term ends April 2018.)

 

 

 

 

 

Arjun Jorge Calero (Atlantida Ecovillage, Colombia email) was born in Colombia in 1978. Raised in close contact with nature and spiritual seeking, he finished his Biology studies in 2001 with a special degree in ethno-ecology. He has worked for years with local native communities and environmental groups in schools. He was part of the Rainbow Peace Caravan, a nomad ecovillage, school and artistic company, that traveled throughout Latin America. In 2003 he co-founded Atlantida Ecovillage where he still resides and hosts 2 major DUP events every year. A Dance mentor, guitarist and Ruhaniat initiate, Arjun works actively with the ecovillage networks (national and continental) and the revival of the ancient wisdom of the Americas. (Term ends April, 2019.)

 

 

 

 

Munira Elizabeth Reed Ph.D. (Columbus, Ohio email)

is een sheikha in de Sufi Ruhaniat International, mentor voor de Dansen van Universele Vrede, cheraga (Soefi interreligieuze ceremonieleider), en uitvoerend directeur van het Shalem Center en Abwoon Resource Center. Haar hoofdfocus ligt op het verspreiden van Saadi's Aramese en Soefi-werk, wat haar door de hele VS, Brazilië en verschillende delen van Mexico heeft gebracht. Munir Peter Reynolds (Corvallis, Montana, USA email) Munir has served as Executive Director of DUP International since August, 2009. He holds an M.A. degree in arts administration, an M.A. in Culture and Creation Spirituality and has worked in various nonprofit organization managerial and administrative positions since 1976.  A Senior Mentor in the Mentors Guild and Sheikh for the Sufi Ruhaniat International, Munir served from 2002 -2010 as Executive Director of Oneness Project, a Dances of Universal Peace programming and grantmaking organization in the Pacific Northwest USA where he administered grants programs supporting the Dances of Universal Peace worldwide. As a mentor and Dance leader Munir has presented Sufi and DUP retreats, dance leader trainings and camps throughout the western USA and has served on the Dance staff of numerous events in the US, Canada, New Zealand and Russia. (Term ends April 2019)

 

 

NurAna Naomi Wilansky (Normal, Illinois, USA email)

Onder mentorschap van Ayesha Lauenborg leerde ze de Dansen van Universele Vrede in de vroege jaren '90, en sinds 1995 is ze zelf dansleider. Oorspronkelijk uit Washington DC, leefde ze een aantal jaren in Delaware en Philadelphia voordat ze verhuisde naar Illinois. Sinds 1999 leidt ze daar een regelmatige danscirkel in haar regio, en leidt dansen bij het DUV Midwest retreat. Naomi is een gestalt-psychotherapeut en een gediplomeerd klinisch sociaal werker. Ze heeft een goed lopende privé-praktijk, en is zeer dankbaar voor de ervaring om een dochter op te voeden, die nu studeert. Naomi is geïnitieerd in de Sufi Ruhaniat International door Yasmin Haut. Ze houdt haar Soefi-beoefening in balans met haar werk in het sociale activiteiten comité, Hebreeuwse les geven, en als zangleider in haar lokale Joodse tempel. Uitvoerend Directeur, Secretaris

Edmund Aziz Dixon (Engeland, Groot Brittanië email) Aziz is een gecertificeerd dansleider uit Lancashire, Engeland. Hij heeft een MBA diploma van de Open University en brengt ervaring mee vanuit een groot aantal functies in universitair management, gedurende meer dan 20 jaar. Hij is sinds 16 jaar op het soefi-pad, heeft actief deelgenomen aan de lokale dans- en soefi-gemeenschap en aan activiteiten door heel Engeland. Hij was lid van het management-comité van het Engelse regionale netwerk, DUP UK, in de functie van secretaris, penningmeester en ledenadministratie. Aziz is ook manager voor de Europese Ruhaniat zomerschool.
